Exploding Phone asks for a 25% deposit upon contract signature, 25% upon UX/UI sign-off, 25% upon delivery of a version of the solution for testing, and 25% upon sign-off.
Who owns the finished product, including the source code?
Some app developers may try to retain the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of a project making it extremely costly to switch supplier. Exploding Phone supplies all source code to the customer upon receipt of payment of the final app development invoice.
Where is the app hosted and who owns the platform?
App development will generally require some functionality to be hosted in the Cloud. This can either be provided by a third-party or on-premise. Exploding Phone has identified Cloud providers that offer a combination of value for money, performance and reliability. This cost is covered in a Maintenance and Support contract. If the client wishes to host elsewhere the client will be required maintain the commercial relationship and costs with the Cloud provider.
